I guess you love to travel and explore new things but you don’t have much time to do the same. So, you are here to check out how you can make your one-day trip to Mysore perfect and adventurous. Let’s explore the 5 Best Places To Visit In Mysore In One Day Trip from my favorite list.

Mysore is an important historical city in Karnataka. It is over 150 km away from Bangalore. As I studied in Bangalore, I have visited Mysore city many times since my college years.

It is a lovely city with a lot of special vibes. Even, the name of this city is enough for me to dive into the ocean of moments and memories.

Oh! sorry. Letโ€™s Go Back To The Main Topic. So, we are here to visit Mysore’s most popular places in One Day.

Mysore Palace– #1 Among Places To Visit In Mysore In One Day

Mysore Palace is the most visited place in this city. If you visit Mysore & you haven’t planned for the palace, then you have seen nothing in Mysore. It is only 2 km away from the Mysore Railway Station and 11 km from Mysore Airport.

It is constructed by combining Hindu, Islamic, Rajput, and Gothic architectural styles, and is surrounded by a beautiful garden filled with many flowers and various plants. This Maharaja palace is also one of the best places to visit in Mysore.

Start your Mysore trip after having breakfast of your choice and start moving towards the Mysore palace to witness the historical heritage.

My one more suggestion would be, you should visit the Mysore Zoo before visiting the palace. The zoo opens at around 8.30 am

What To Do Inside: After entering the palace gate, you can see some lush gardens covering two sides of the road & a glimpse of beautiful Mysore Palace from a distance. Don’t forget to take some good photos of yourself before entering the main palace.

You need to keep your shoes at the deposit center before entering. Take a bag from the counter to deposit the shoes by spending 2 Rs. You can witness the historical things and some equipment used by Maharajas inside the palace and if you are interested in historical things, then you will definitely love to roam and explore the Mysore Palace. You can add this top tourist attraction place to your ‘Places To Visit In Mysore In One Day’ list without any second thought.

Mysore Zoo

Mysore Zoo brings you some of the rarest species in its close vicinity. This oldest zoo in India is home to a wide range of animal and plant species.

It was opened in 1892 by the then Maharaja, who brought infrequent animals while traveling in different nations. This place also serves as an educational center for wildlife conservation.

You should include Mysore Zoo in your quick list of ‘Places To Visit In Mysore In One Day Trip’ if you love to watch a variety of animals and other rarest species. It is only 3 km from the Mysore Railway Station and 10 km from the Mysore Airport.

Price Of Tickets: Rs.100/- for adults & Rs.50/- for children (5-12 years), Free entry for below 5 years.

St. Philomena’s Cathedral Church

One must also include St Philomena’s Cathedral in Mysore’s itinerary for its immense religious and historical significance on a one-day visit to Mysore. It is a huge church that a good number of people can fit into the hall of this second largest church in Asia, and the magnificent sanctum adds a touch of elegance to the Church.

Don’t forget to write down this place in your ‘Places To Visit In Mysore In One Day Trip’ note. This place can give you peace of mind if you plan to spend some time here in the evening.

You can visit the church after exploring Mysore Zoo. The distance between the two places is around 3 km. You can capture some good images standing in front of the church. It looks great!

10 Best Places In Coorg To Visit On Your Next Planned Trip

Chamundi Hills

Chamundi Hills is one of the most famous places to visit in Mysore. There is a temple named โ€˜Chamundeshwari Templeโ€™. As Chamundi Hills is well known for its Chamundeshwari Temple, it has two more temples dedicated to Lakshmi Narayana Swamy and Mahabaleswara as well.

There is a feeling of calmness and peace when you visit this temple. Since the temple is located on a hilltop, the views when climbing the hill or descending are stunning.

It is quite scenic, and you can either get direct entry or go through the queue. We visited on Friday and it was quite busy because it is considered a very auspicious day here. This is one of the best places to visit in Mysore in one day.

In addition to its historical significance, this temple has always a long queue of devotees, an excellent parking lot also can be seen, there is a small market on the way to the Chamundeshwari Temple, a magnificent view of Mysore is the best thing to witness from here, and this temple has a very fascinating architecture. You should never miss this tourist spot on your one-day trip to Mysore.

3.30 pm – 6 pm ( Afternoon)

How To Reach Chamundi Hills: KSRTC buses are available to reach the Chamundi Hills. You can take a bus from the city bus stand to reach the hills and temple as well. You can also book a cab to reach there or if you have a personal vehicle, then you are good to go nicely.

If you are planning a one-day trip to Mysore, you must visit Brindavan Gardens at least once otherwise, you will not be satisfied with the trip. Brindavan Garden is among Indiaโ€™s best terrace gardens.

A Musical Fountain synchronized with the flow of music is the main attraction here. It is inspired by the Shalimar Gardens of Kashmir, & the ancient Mughal style.

It’s a really beautiful garden, spread across the area with flowers and water fountains. The architecture of the garden is amazing with the feeling of a terrace with stairs. You can see different types of flowers scattered across the area.

During nights, there is a light and water show in the garden. You can get tickets at the entrance. Food stalls and small shops with snacks are located in the area. Boating facilities are also present in the Brindavana Gardens.

Timings: 8 am – 8 pm

Ticket Price: Rs.50/- for adults & Rs. 10/- for children (Rs. 100 for DSLR cameras)

๐Ÿ“Brindavan Gardens

So, Brindavana Gardens would be your last place on your ‘places to visit in Mysore In One Day Trip’ plan. You can switch the time of visiting both Chamundi Hills and Brindavana Gardens according to your schedule.

As these two places are far away from the city, and if you want to skip one of these two tourist attractions, then I have another place suggestion for you that is located between the main city and the Chamundi Hills road.

Celebrity Wax Museum

If you love to take photos with wax statues of famous personalities, then this place can make you feel amazing. This also has a horror house to create an eerie vibe through its show. There are additional outdoor activities like ATV rides, paintball shooting, zorbing are also famous among visitors.

This wax museum has statues of local, national, and international celebrities. This is one of the amazing places to visit in Mysore in one day trip if you have a keen interest in clicking photos with your favorite personality.

Where To Stay In Mysore For One Day Trip?

On short trips, the hotel doesn’t need to be perfect as per my thought. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that I am suggesting you stay in a hotel where bedbugs will welcome you at night. I am picking two hotels from my personal experience that are wonderful according to their price tags.

If you have a good budget to spend on a hotel, then Ginger Hotel, Mysore is the best in class. The price seems in the range. This hotel is only 3 km from the Railway Station. It is located in the heart of Mysore city.

๐Ÿ“Location Of Ginger Hotel, Mysore

If you don’t want to spend much on hotel rooms on your one-day trip to Mysore, then Hotel Shastri Paradise would be the best suggestion. It is only 2 km from the Railway station and the tourist places

are much closer to this hotel. Shastri Paradise Hotel is just opposite of KSRTC Bus Stand.

๐Ÿ“Location Of Hotel Shastri Paradise

There are a lot of places here to explore, that cannot be visited in one day trip to Mysore. These places are the most popular that people visit without any second thought. Anyway, take some more time for at least 2-3 days and visit Mysore to explore all the beautiful and hidden gem spots. All the best for your trip. Sayonara.
